Dear Parents:
As you read this letter, we
will have returned from our “Tour of Trees” field trip. Regardless of the weather, I am fully
confident that the day will be a success.
Please ask your children for a full report. Many thanks go to our parent-drivers for
their assistance!
Today we welcomed Sarah
Winchester-Arlow into our class. It’s so nice to see another smiling face in
our group! Please introduce yourself to
Sarah and her family. They are anxious
to get to know everyone.
I am sending home a
permission slip for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch with our kindergarten
buddies which will occur on October 22.
This is a wonderful experience that allows the buddy partners to have a
memorable adventure together. Also, the
fifth graders have the opportunity to be responsible for their buddies. Traditionally, we give the kindergarten
parents the first chance at driving to the pumpkin patch. I will let you know if additional drivers are
needed. The cost of the trip is $5.
Book report presentations
will begin tomorrow. We are finishing up
with Chapter 2 in math (addition and subtraction of whole numbers) and will
have a test covering this material on Thursday.
In social studies, we will be talking about the election process.
Next Monday, we will begin
standardized testing. The Archdiocese
opted for fall testing this year, which is different than previously. The best thing you can do to help your
children be prepared for these tests is to make sure they have adequate rest
and a good breakfast.
Have a great week!
