Star Student

An important part of my kindergarten program is the development of self-esteem.  Throughout the year, each student will have an opportunity to be the star of the week.  This program provides a great opportunity for students to share his/her unique talents/gifts with the rest of our class.  

In kindergarten, the star of the week will:

*share their autobiography poster with the class and display it on the bulletin board

*share photographs of themselves and their family which will also be displayed on the bulletin board

*receive a book written by  classmates focusing on the positive qualities he/she exhibits

*bring an estimation jar filled with a collection of something unique to themselves

*eat lunch with Mrs. Winningham in the classroom with 2 other kindergarten friends (usually on the Friday of his/her week)
