Grading Policies

Tests and Quizzes will account for 45% of the student's grade.

Students will have advanced notice for tests and quizzes.  These will also be posted on the homework schedule.  Students will be given the opportunity to learn from their mistakes and revise their tests and quizzes. Students may correct their tests and quizzes to earn back half of the points they missed.  Corrected tests and quizzes must be turned in within 3 days from when the test/quiz is returned to the student.

Homework and all other class work will account for another 45% of the student's grade.

Homework will be graded according to the following scale:

        "check"+   = complete / corrected (3 points)

"check"       = complete / not completely corrected (2 points)

            "check"-     = incomplete (1 point)

Students will be able to earn a max of a      "check"       on late homework.

Students should come to class prepared with the following items every day:

Students must come to class prepared with the following items:

  1. Pencil and correcting pen/marker/highlighter
  2. Composition notebook and Textbook
  3. Calculator

Every student begins each week with a total of 3 points per day for the week.  For each day a student shows up missing one or more of the above items, they will lose one point for each missing number listed above.

This will be counted as participation points, and will account for the remaining 10% of the student’s grade.
