We have an excellent collection of books, periodicals, and resource material in a fully automated library, which grows annually.

Students in grades 2-8 are allowed to check out books for two weeks; one week for kindergarteners and first graders. Students who fail  to return a book by the due date, have, at the librarian’s discretion, the option to check out one more book. After that, the computer system will not allow the student to check out any more books until the overdue books are returned. Overdue notices will be emailed to the homeroom class and sent home for individual students. If a book is three weeks overdue, the book will be assumed lost, and the student will be billed for its replacement cost.

Books given to the library contain bookplates noting the donor for posterity. We have two Book Fairs where  families are encouraged to buy books for the library as well as for their own recreational reading.

If parents have an objection to a certain library book there is an appeal form to request exclusion of the book from the library. This form will then be reviewed by the Portland Archdiocese School Library Association for possible removal from the library.

Getting to know Mrs. Napoli
My name is Mrs. Napoli. This is my 24 year at St. Clare. I have been the librarian for the past 16 years. Before that I taught third grade for eight years. I grew up in the Portland area and went to Oregon State University followed by Warner Pacific where I achieved my teaching certification. I returned to school after I started working here and received a Master of Elementary Education from Lewis & Clark. I have since also received a Library/Media Endorsement as well. I live in Wilsonville with my husband Doug and my two sons, Ryan and Hunter. We also have two dogs named Zeus and Stella. I love to read, watch my kids play sports, listen to music, and travel. St. Clare is a great community to be a part of, and I really enjoy working here.

Please contact me with any questions.
