Principal's Corner

Dear Parents and Friends of St. Clare Schooll:

Happy Advent! During this season of patient waiting and joyful hope, we look forward to several events that bring us closer to the bright promise of Jesus’ birth!

This year, our Advent Reconciliation service for grades 2-8 will take place on December 7 at 9:15 am. On December 8, we will celebrate the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with the parish at Mass at 8:30 a.m. Our fifth grade students are planning this Mass. On December 15, the last school day before Christmas break, our Student Council will lead us in an Advent prayer service in the church at 10:30 a.m. Please join us!

Our students look forward to reaching out to those in need during Advent. A few of the projects planned so far include first grade’s food drives for St. Vincent de Paul, fourth grade’s visit to the Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children, and fifth grade’s visit to West Hills Village. Additionally, the entire school is participating in The KGW Great Toy Drive, and all families are invited to participate in the parish Giving Tree project.

Of course, the season wouldn’t be complete without some fun traditions that we look forward to every year. These include a visit from St. Nicholas, class parties, Advent Angel gift exchanges, and our annual Christmas program, directed by Mrs. Judy Sherbo, which will be held in the church on Wednesday, December 13, at 7:00 p.m., with a reception following.

At school during this busy season, we find quiet time to ask for God’s help as we prepare for the coming of His son.

Wishing you peace, joy, hope, and many blessings during this very special season!

Sincerely,

Debbi Monahan
